A section of buyers, under the banner of Noida Extension Flat Owner’s Welfare Association (NEFOWA), waiting for the delivery of their flats in Noida and Greater Noida have written a letter to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. They have requested to be spared of making payments of the installments to banks until their flats are handed over to them. The buyers said that they were facing a double burden of paying EMI along with the rent of the house in which they are currently staying. About 2 lakh flats are yet to be delivered. Threats of protests have also been made for the projects which haven’t been completed for years. Abhishek Kumar, the president of NEFOWA, said that they wanted the government to sit up and take action and that it should mitigate the situation of the victimized buyers. He also added that NEFOWA would be starting a series of protests to ensure that their voice has been heard.
