Bhiwandi-Nizampur Civic Body Demolishes Illegal Residential Building

The Bombay High Court, acting on a PIL of two locals, directed the Bhiwandi- Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNMC) to start demolishing a ground plus six-storey illegal building in Bhiwandi. The locals had stated that the building lacked requisite permissions from the BNMC.

Enraged residents slammed the civic body for negligence accusing it for not taking action when construction was going on as a result of which the residents got cheated on. Curiously, builder Mohammed Habib Ansari, who completed the building in 2016, did not name it.

The builder and residents moved the Supreme Court but the apex court refused to grant them relief and asked them to move the HC again. The HC had on July 10^th ordered the demolition of the building within 3 days, said the public relations officer of the BNMC, Milind Parsule.
