Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) is a statutory body, with founding objective to monitor the real estate sector and adjudicate disputes related to real estate’s projects. A decision to take major step has been taken by Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA). They have decided that if the developers will fail to complete the residential projects, then authority will issue show cause to deregister their projects.
They further added, “Show cause notice will also be issued, if there is non-fulfillment on the part of builder to deliver project and if does not show enthusiasm in resuming construction or is absconding or in jail.”
The authority has started their work as they issued deregistration notices to 7 builders under section 7 of RERA who failed to meet their commitment to buyers comprising nearly 14 projects and approx. 4800 residential units. The matter is still raw and active consideration at different stages.
Action has been taken by UP-RERA in relation to bad construction quality and project delays by sending notices to developers.
Provision under Section 8 of RERA Act 2016 has been given in favor of developer that Authority can provide a platform to take up stressed projects and complete them.
