Mumbai lose its historic Esplanade Mansion building, India’s oldest surviving cast iron building that is on the list of 100 World Endangered Monuments. In a report earlier this month, an expert committee from Indian, an expert committee from Indian institute of technology-Bombay recommended to demolition of building. Mhada is approaching to HC for repairing of old- historic monument despite demolition. According to report of civil-engineering, IIT-B department recommend demolition of building is best one as to repair once, because great problems on social and economical level that visual report of Bombay. Its great damage for health.
Repair is not able to make changes. It’s based on iron pillar. There should be demolishing of body is appropriate as per report of IIT-b. Watson's Hotel, now known as the Esplanade Mansion, is India's oldest surviving cast iron building. It is located in the “Kala Ghoda” area of Mumbai. Named after its original owner, John Watson, the building was fabricated in England.
