Income Tax department held Shah Rukh Khan guilty under the Section 2 (9) of the new Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Amended Act, 2016. It Claims that Shah Rukh Khan purchased an agricultural land at Alibaugh through an agriculturist Moreshwar Ajgaonkar, claiming that the land will be utilized for the farming activities.
And later the land has been transferred to the new company Deja Vu Farms. The land was transferred in the company's name with the condition that it will be used for farming within three years. Also, the IT sources said that Deja Vu Farms received an unsecured loan of Rs 8.5 crore to purchase the land through Shah Rukh Khan. Interestingly as per the Ministry of corporate affairs records show Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan’s father Ramesh Chibba, her mother Savita Chibba and her sister Namita Chibba as the directors of Deja Vu Farms.
Deja Vu Farms came into the news when Raigad collector Vijay Suryavanshi claimed a farmhouse at Alibaug was among 87 farmhouses on which the collector’s office had sought legal opinion for taking action for alleged Coastal Regulatory Zone(CRZ) violations. Deja Vu Fames violated the CRZ rules by having a swimming pool without permission from the concerned authority. Also, the farmhouse had a big bungalow & a helipad. Parallelly, a complaint was also filed in a Mumbai police station alleging that Deja Vu farms had violated the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act that restricts the transfer of agricultural land to non-agriculturists without the permission of the collector or state government. The IT Department said that Deja Vu Farms has so far not shown any income from the farming authority. IT Department attached & filed the report before an adjudication authority to confirm the attachment. Shah Rukh Khan needs to reply before the authority within 90 days. Once the adjudication authority confirms the attachment, I-T authorities can initiate further criminal action.
