To have a house of own is a trend which is followed in recent years. Following the same many people booked houses in a newly project launched in 2012 in Sector 103 named Ansals Highland Park in city of Gurugram.
In belief of fact that the construction is going on in manner so that homebuyers will receive their houses in 2017, but later was found out that no construction work took place in last six months in year 2019, near about 600 homebuyers faced this fate.
In 2012, developers promised to complete the project in year 2017 and in anticipation of this buyers paid 90% of total amount to be paid but came to knowledge that only 45-45% construction was done.
TOI several times tried to reach developers of Ansals to get idea about the project but failed.
One of homebuyer Vipin Khanna, stated after recently visiting construction site, “A group of homebuyers visited construction site on May 2 and observed that laborers there were engaged in odd jobs, and construction work was stacked to place where it was 6 months back. Also no engineer or other officials was present at that site.”
Further adding Khanna said, “After visiting site they became aware that builders had sheerly wasted money paid by buyers and also failed to update about the renewal of license which was to be expired in 2016 as per DTCP website. They were also taken aback when Ansals did not reply positively.”
Navnit Tyagi, another homebuyer aggrieved on the non-responsive attitude of Ansals stated, “The homebuyers formed an association and filed a case against developers in H-RERA Gurgaon who failed in performing their duty. As per information first hearing of case will take place in July.”
Tyagi added, “Some of homebuyer have invested their savings, and also some of them are facing double financial trouble as they have to pay rent as well as EMI. As homebuyer have approached court of justice through H-RERA are expecting to get the same. The only thing is that they want builders to perform their duty and lessen their financial burden as early as possible.”
Along with case filed at H-RERA, a RTI has also been filed by group of homebuyers regarding the delay in renewal of license against developers.
Timely meetings were organized with officials of Ansals when work was not resumed and also with a view to know the reason behind the same. Buyers also inquired about the funds which they paid in anticipation to get their own houses.
The builders of Ansals gave a reason that they are lacking in funds to resume construction work. Thus Sanjay Verma, President of buyers association raised a contention by stating, “The developers have engaged the amount of this project in other project as well.”
Pooja Jha, one of the homebuyer doped in financial burden of EMI, rents as well as legal fees shared her views, “They are very saddened and under enormous pressure due to financial instability faced by them only by reason of insensitive attitude of developers. Also they are left only with hope to receive their dream houses as well as any justice in coming future.”
