A committee of seven-member committee appointed by the Nagpur bench of Bombay high court has identified 349 properties in proximity to high tension lines of Mahagenco in the city. The committee was formed Next to the death of 11-year-old twins Priyansh and PiyushDhar in Armours Township, Sugat Nagar, who had come in contact with live high tension line on May 31, 2017. Now, the committee will hold public hearings at Cottage Number 28 of Ravi Bhavan from May 27 to May 30.The committee was formed as these properties violate the distance norms prescribed by Mahagenco statutory rules.
civic authorities including Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has earlier directed by the court to pull down structures that were perilously close to high tension electric lines.Few lawns, which are below high tension line on Gorewada Lake road near inner ring road, too are being operated. Despite this, the NMC did nothing against the illegal constructions. The owners have been asked to submit their photo identity card, sanctioned plans of NIT or NMC, latest property tax receipt, documentary evidence in support of authorized construction, latest electricity bill and written submission during public hearings.
An opportunity to present their day on May 29 from 11:30am will be given to the Residents of RamnaMaroti, Diamond Nagar, Shaktimata Nagar, Ratan Nagar, Gadgebaba Nagar, Mayurpeth, Aradhana Nagar, Sidheswari Nagar, Ambe Nagar, Saibaba Nagar, Gausiya Colony, Sarvashree Nagar, Vaibhav Nagar, Gajanan Nagar, Tukdoji Nagar, Beldar Nagar, Ramkrishna Nagar, Shivsundar Nagar, Yogeshwar Nagar and Senapati Nagar. Similarly, hearings for Somwari Quarters, Bhande Plot, Mire Layout, Hasanbag, Chitnavis Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Kukde Layout, Parvati Nagar and Harpur, which come under Umred Road feeder lines, New Subhedar Layout, Chitnavis Nagar, Medical Tie, Old Bagadganj, Chhatrapati Nagar, Tajbag and Manewada will be held on May 28 from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
