Waiver of tax for Ambani’s firm (Reliance Atlantic Flag France) clearly gives rise to the suspicion that there was some link between the tax waiver and Rafale Deal. However, Ambani’s Reliance Group, the Defence Minitry of India and the French embassy in New Delhi clearly issued a statement denying any kind of link.
As per the daily report of France (Le Monde), the French Government has waived 143.7 million Euros, which Anil Ambani was suppose to pay to the French Government the above mentioned amount as tax for his France-based company.
Moreover, this waiver was done barely 6 months after the government-to-government Rafale Deal came into force in the year 2015.
As per the report, after the tax audits the French government demanded 151 million Euro as a tax from Ambani’s firm in the year between 2007 and 2012. However Ambani’s firm has offered the settlement of 7.6 million Euros in the year 2013, which was not agreed upon by the French Government. Suddenly, in the year 2015 in which Rafale Deal was signed between India and France was the year in which French government agreed to make a settlement with Ambani’s firm for 7.6 million Euros.
Moreover, in reply to all this report the ministry said that there is clearly no link between Ambani’s Firm and Rafale deal, it is just a conjecture, totally false and falls in the ambit of mischief and is the mere attempt to misinform.
