A fresh corruption case was registered by CBI against the former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda as it was seen that the individual has helped at least 15 private colonizers to get hundreds of acres for cheap prices in Gurgaon which had some conspiracy, prompting the opposition Congress party to which Hooda belongs, a veiled warning was issued that there should be no action some outside the ambit of law of land to carry forward the governments agenda.
Searches were being conducted at more than 20 places in Chandigarh, Rohtak, Delhi, Mohali, and Gurgaon is what an agency spokesman stated and added that following a Supreme Court directive of Nov 2017 the investigation has been taken up in this regard.
Hooda has said that the raids were a part of the “political Vendetta”. He stated that the government is thinking to suppress his voice through raids which will never happen. He added that he belong to freedom fighters family and he will fight them in the court as he have full trust in country’s judiciary and CBI will be called out for the act.
No documents related to him were seized but on the other side the agency has named State’s additional Chief Secretary Trilok Chand Gupta who then was chief administrator, HUDA and unknown private and public servants were as accused.
The 15 private colonizers which are named in the FIR are Emaaar MGF Land Ltd, Ansal Properties, DLF New Gurgaon Home Developers Private Limited, Buzz Hotels, RS Infrastructure, Commander Realtors, Martial Builcon, SU Estates Pvt Ltd, Marconi Infratech, JMD Ltd, HS Realty, Krrish Buildtech, DSS Infrastructe, Gupta Promoters and Sana Realtors.
The CBI has said in its FIR that around 1407 acres of land was acquired under Section 4 of Land Acquisition Act by the Hooda led Congress Government in June 2009 for the purpose of developing residential sectors and commercial sectors in Gurgaon by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). Eight villages namely Behrampur, Tigra, Badshapur, Nangli Umarpura, Ghatta, Ullahwas, Kadarpur and Medawas of Gurgaon was sought to be acquired.
However, the total area was reduced to about 800 acres while there was declaration issued under Section 6 of the same act and finally on May29, 2012 the award dated was passed only for 87 acres of land.
The main purpose of this acquisition was to avail the developed land for an affordable prices to the public at large but during the time between 2007 and 2012 there were around 15 real estate developers who fraudulently and dishonestly entered into a criminal conspiracy with the former CM, HUDA, the then Chief Administrator and some private and public individuals with an intention to cheat all the land owners and even the public at large and get the lands.
As the notification turned up the landowners got panicked and they started selling their lands for cheaper prices than that of prevalent prices in the market to all the private developers but the HUDA ultimately decided not to acquire much of the land pockets.
