Bollywood actress Amrita Singh along with her aunt Tahira Bimbat may have claimed more than 4 acres of main property in the Clement Town area of the city of Dehradun but may face serious legal trouble. Last week, Amrita Singh along with the daughter of actor Sara Ali Khan filed a police report stating that Clement Town property should be protected from a land mafia and has also presented a signboard indicating that the land belongs to them. Legal experts opine that both Amrita Singh and Tahira Bimbat are at risk of facing a legal battle over a final agreement. On the other side, Khushi Ram being the custodian of the disputed property, also filed a complaint with the police demanding the protection of the property.
The first signs of dispute arose when Madhusudan, who suffered from cancer, died a few days ago. Police officers confirmed that Madhusudan's father, who was an Air Force officer, had purchased the property in 1969. After his parents died, Madhusudan, who was not married, was left alone in the property of Clement Town. Amrita Singh is the daughter of Rukhsana Sultana, daughter of Madhusudan's father of his first divorced wife. Rukhsana Sultana was known for her close ties to the then head of Congress Sanjay Gandhi during the Emergency period. After divorcing Rukhsana Sultana, Madhusudan's father married Asha Bimbat, with whom he became the father of Madhusudan and Tahira. Tahira Bimbat and Amrita Singh have already filed a lawsuit against Madhusudan over the disputed property of Clement Town. The Uttarakhand police are taking a cautious path on this matter and have ruled out any investigation by the Special Working Group (SIT). The General Director of Police (DGP), Anil Raturi clarified that this is a dispute over the ownership of a disputed property which is pending before the civil court and police officials will not interfere with the issue. Nevertheless, police officers who received complaints from Amrita Singh and Khushi Ram said that they were examining the accused persons and they would present a final report in the civil court. The police are also checking reports where the deceased Madhusudan had left a will in which he wanted to transfer the said property to a trust.
