Public Works Department Engineer’s Property Gets Attached With Enforcement Directorate In Bengaluru.

Enforcement Directorate has played a greater role by attaching properties of worth Rupees 1.92 crore of L Raghu. Raghu was serving in the position of Executive Engineer in the Public Works Department and he was bestowed upon the responsibility of forming Nadar prabhu Kempe gowda layout by the Siddaramaiah Government. The raid was conducted by Lokayukta on November 8, 2012 while he was serving as Executive Engineer with the Benagaluru based National Highways and also because he had come under the radar. It is significant to note that under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) all the commercial plots based in Bengaluru and Mandya were attached.

The sources have duly mentioned that Raghu was working with Bangalore Development Authority and was also reported that he was transferred to other departments six months ago. But, Raghu did not report. It was revealed that in the month of April 2018 there was demotion of Raghu to the post of Assistant Executive. However, steps have been taken in order to combat such menace and to have transperancy in the entire procedure. It is also important to restrict the cases related to money laundering and opting for stringent punishments in this regard.
