Due to the widespread violence in the State of Kerala, the Government is likely to bring an ordinance to maintain the public order, to prevent the destruction of the private property during the time of hartal. The Kerala Government by its proposed ordinance would hold liable the persons destructing the private properties by having them pay appropriate compensation, and incorporate further measures to curb such destruction of the private properties.
In addition to this, the Kerala Chief Minister, Mr Pinarayi Vijayan entered into the blame game by alleging that BJP and RSS were responsible for the recent chaos in the state. Almost 91 per cent of the rioters were from the Sangh Parivar Groups, and the ordinance would curb such form of violence. The ordinance encapsulates violence against the media, people’s representatives, party offices and houses.
If it were not for the two women—Bindu and Kanakadurga, who entered the Sabarimala temple despite being at the menstruating age, the chaos in the state would not have occurred. From pelting stones to shutting down shops and markets in many places, the protests surged to a new level. Even Country-made bombs were thrown at the residences of CPI(M) and BJP workers during Friday night.
