Financial year is coming to an end but the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) official have to travel a longroute to achieve their target of Rs 3100 crore according to the officials. The commissioner of BBMP N. Manjunatha Prasad has said that they are having trouble to give notice to the owners who are not traceable and most of them are the owners of vacant plots, they are giving rise to list of defaulters. Till now BBMP has collected RS.2,220 Crore in taxes but only 11.5 lakh properties have paid taxes levied out of 19 lakh properties within its limits. 5.9 lakh properties have paid levy online and others have paid their tax via bank challans. If we go through the details of tax collection since 2016 till now there is a reduction in the collection of taxes. The defaulters might get into trouble if they fail to pay taxes before the end of the financial year, they might lose their asset because BBMP commissioner has said warrants will be issued to defaulters by the end of the financial year.
