The Property registration process slowed down as the data since 2002 on the relevant servers are being transferred to Cloud. Present Data amounting to 30 Tera-bytes have been transferred to the Cloud so far. In light of this issue, the Property registration Department has requested the stakeholders to hold on the registration until January 15 unless it is mandatory.
The chaos in the property registration department has been continuing for the past three days. A citizen from Delhi had come for the registration of a lease agreement with the lessee to Haveli 10 office on Friday. She had to forego her entire day for completing the registration, and she said that she did not know about the technical issues, or otherwise she would have deferred the plan.
Totally, 180 Tera-bytes of Data are being shifted to the Cloud. Deputy Inspector General Supriya Karmakar reported that the chaos is temporary due to the transition of data on servers to the Cloud, and expressed the ability to rationalize the process after the completion of the transition. Indeed, the trouble continues to exist as the present issue hinder the registration process at 500 offices in the state.
Residents having interest in the registration process expressed dissent over the boards put up which made no sense, rather the information should have been announced in advance or given on the website to avoid inconvenience. An Advocate named Devidas Sali added that there should have been alternative arrangements to keep the registration process unhindered.
An official from the Department expressed confidence that the process of data transition must get over within a fortnight, and the Department is involved in collecting the necessary data from the state data centres and collaborating with the empanelled operator for the cloud technology for effecting the transition.
