Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given a landmark decision which was on demand by the public representatives of Navi Mumbai, Aurangabad and Nashik. He had announced the advantages of the allotment of CIDCO houses and their conversion from lease-hold to free-hold, inorder to let people own their properties. It is important to note that Manda Mhatre , MLA (Manda) claimed that she has been successful in the mission of giving relaxation to the residents from the burdern of payment of Cidco transfer charges. Fadnavis has played a vital role by issuing directives to CIDCO inorder to take necessary measures.
Fadnavis Government had sanctioned the lease period for 99 years to 60 years on CIDCO land for both the residential and commercial properties. With respect to the same a onetime transfer-fee was made compulsory to be paid. It was decided that Plots up to 25 sq metres will have to pay 5 per cent transfer fees. It is 15 per cent for 50-100 sq meters plot, and 20 per cent for a 100-150 sq metres plot. It is after the payment of the transfer fee the ‘free-hold’ of the land would be sanctioned. It was mentioned that the scheme would be for a period of 24 months and the beneficiaries will not have to pay transfer fee for land or tenement transfer, and will not be required to produce to CIDCO no objection certificate (NoC) for change of user.
The opposition however claimed this move to be a clickbait in the lieu of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in order to amass vote and said this move was a part of vote bank politics.
