Two men along with their wives have been booked by the Cidco police on charges of assaulting their elderly parents and driving them out of their house while demanding transfer of property in their names. Based on the complaint lodged by 65-year-old Amrutrao Fatpure, his sons and their wives have been booked on charges of voluntarily causing hurt, intentional insult and criminal intimidation, after the elderly couple reached out to the police station narrating about the incident that took place on Thursday night. Fatpure, a farmer by profession, in his complaint has stated that his sons and their wives had been insisting them (parents) to leave the house and shift to an old-age home. A police officer said that as per the preliminary probe the suspects are reportedly insisting their elderly parents to transfer the house as well as other belongings in their names for quite some time.
The younger son also demanded a sum of Rs 3 lakh that he reportedly took from his in-laws for carrying out construction of their house.
“It is beyond description that the kids for whom we spent our entire life and even left our ancestral village to ensure quality education and bright future, have kicked us out of our house,” Fatpure said. Taking cognizance of the incident, Cidco police station inspector Nirmala Pardeshi has registered an offence and tasked an assistant sub inspector to carry out a detailed probe.
