A day after the Mumbai Fire Brigade released its report regarding the fire at the Kamala Mills Compounds, the N.M. Joshi Marg police booked the proprietors of Mojo's Bistro and arrested one of its proprietors, Yug Pathak. On Friday Mumbai Fire Brigade had expressed in its investigation report that the burning embers from a charcoal sigree utilized for hookahs would have probably going caused the fire, after coming into contact with the curtains, at Mojo's Bistro. The fire spread quickly areas which is adjacent to Mojo's Bistro.
On Saturday morning, the N.M. Joshi Marg police included the names of Yug Pathak son of retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer K.K. Pathak, and Yug Tulli who owns Mojo's Bistro in the FIR that had been registered against the proprietors of 1 Above. The FIR has booked all the accused for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. An officer in the N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station stated, "We already had some data to show that the hookahs being served at Mojo's were responsible for the fire. But, the Fire Brigade is the competent body to opine on the issue, and we were waiting for their report before choosing the further strategy."
Subsequently, Mr. Pathak was summoned for inquiries to the police station and was arrested on late Saturday evening. The police have likewise summoned Mr. Tulli, asking him to show up for inquiries. A manager at Mojo's has been confined for inquiries, as well, sources affirmed. "Every one of the fatalities were at 1 Above and there are clear signs of gross negligence when it came to fire safety in the restaurant. We will incorporate these points of interest in the charge-sheet" the officer said. The police had on Friday announced prize money of ?1 lakh for any information with respect to the whereabouts of Kripesh Sanghavi, Jigar Sanghavi and Abhijeet Mankar of Sigrid Ospitalia.
