Supreme Court has given a huge relief to Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society in Mumbai. The Supreme Court has ordered CBI to defreeze its accounts and allow the society to withdraw Rs 1.68 Crore for maintenance and litigation fee payment purpose after giving security of immovable property. The relief has been given primarily for litigation and maintenance purpose. The Bombay High Court had earlier dismissed their plea seeking defreezing of the bank account. The CBI however opposed such defreezing in the SC. The petitioner’s lawyer in this case contended that the cooperative society , the crime linked and the accounts have no direct link.
