At the present moment, thousand of people are nervous as all their savings seemed to be locked and deployed in the JaypeeInfratech Noida Project but several among the 24300 homebuyers have not even cared to file claims. There is a pertinent problem of ghost buyersm nine association comprising around 4500 members expressed their concern over this issue and demanded the taking of immediate steps including tracking of Aadhar and PAN card to weed out the ghost buyers from the project. The Resolution Data shows that for many the stakes are below 10,000 and there is a person who has a stake of Re 1. As a result claims of such people have not been filed. Data records are showing that claims of only half of the people out of the total involved in the project, are genuine. It is therefore strongly apprehended that properties against which no claims have been received by the Interim Resolution Professional are those properties acquired by undisclosed measures. These will remain unclaimed and continue to pose a block in the Insolvency process.
The groups believe that without proper verification or without weeding out ghost applicants , a proper voting pattern shall not emerge. Without genuine applicants the resolution process cannot be completed as it needs to be backed by two thirds of the financial Creditors. Among the financial Creditors 62% comprise of those who had booked their flats in JaypeeInfratech while 37% account for the banks.
