The Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar said that since Faridabad is the second-largest city of Haryana, it has decided to constitute a Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FDMA) on the lines of the Gurugram Metro Development Authority (GDMA). He also listed several achievements of the Town and Country Planning Department.
He added that the government has allowed the construction of four-storey residential buildings in the state as compared to the earlier rules which limited construction to a stilt and three floors, within a height of 15 metres. The new provision has been made in the revised Haryana Building Code, 2017, which has been framed so as to remove variations and bring uniformity in the bye-laws adopted by various agencies. The chief minister further said that the provision of stilt has been made so as to address the parking problem in residential areas. Apart from this, it has been made mandatory to provide for car bay in every residential plot and use of basement for residential purposes has also been allowed, on the condition that fire safety, lighting and ventilation provisions are fulfilled. A provision has also been made for green buildings, under which a building owner can be provided with the benefit of additional floor area ratio up to certain percent, only if he sets up a solar photovoltaic plant and solid waste management plan for the management of water, electricity and waste.
Further, it was added that the State Government has decided to constitute an Appellate Tribunal, whose office would be at Karnal so as to hear complaints of allottees against the decision of the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA). So far, 842 complaints have been received by HRERA, out of which 209 have been disposed off. He further added that the state’s urban development authority, plans to float sectors, including defence sector during the current financial year at various places. Certain metro stations have also been renamed, as said by the Chief Minister.
