A court in Maharashtra's Beed district has ordered the attachment of the properties of an eminent person who is the senior NCP lawmaker and the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council. He is DhananjayMundeand has allegedly duped a cooperative bank.Munde has been one of the directors of a cotton trade mill since 2006 and was also accused of not repaying the loan taken from the Need Central Cooperative Bank. The FIR that was filed in 2013 said that the leaders and the other directors of SantJagmitraCooperative Cotton Mill at Parli had taken the loans of several crores between 2003 and 2011.
The FIR mentioned that the loan was taken without following the due process and without checking the eligibility of the applicants. Judge Deshpande mentioned that the properties of Munde has been attached and he is prohibited from transferring or charging the properties. Munde said that the courts judgement was being twisted to tamper his reputation. He further claimed that no prior notice was served to him. Munde also said that he was one of the 17 directors of the mill and claimed that he had cooperated while the investigation on the property and it’s premises were ongoing.
