The adoption of RERA by state governments is anything but enthusiastic. Haryana is just one of the many states that, after reluctantly enforcing the property regulating body, has diluted it's functions to some extent. Many fear that the consumers seeking to buy real estate would not be provided with the net of safety that the central government promised to provide through RERA.
However, in a drastic turn of events, a senior RERA official has put on record that the authority has invalidated the dilution of the functions of RERA by the state.
Due to the inefficient and half hearted implementation of the authority, many property relators avoided the mandatory registration of property development projects in RERA. This was circumvernted by the authority by stating that all the properties in the state fall under the purview of the authority, regardless of their registration or not.
These statements by the officials have done much to clarify the recent confusion about the inculsion of ongoing and unregistered property projects under RERA.
