Deconstructing The Power- Property Nexus

The judiciary bench of Allahabad High Court declared that all the legally owned samajwadhi properties under construction and no further changes to be made on them. Therefore, temporarily halting the construction. The notice covers the to be heritage hotel and many more that were owned by the Yadav family and others.

The bench consisted of Justice Nath with Justice Abdul Moin who passed the order on a PIL that was filed by advocate Shishir Chaturvedi. This was done so while considering the public impact it shall create as many such PILs are dismissed due to various reasons.

After filing the PIL the advocate received various threats from unknown people but are believed to be people associated with the Yadav family or followers of the Samajwadi party. Therefore the Court sent special security for him which included DGP and principal secretary that would guard him, his family and properties as and when needed.

The PIL that was filed brought the Court's eyes to many similar cases, where either property was owned illegally, construction was blooming without permission all this under the so called VIP zones where very few have permission to lay foot on.
