Property Seizure of Drug Peddlers Proposed

The State legislature of Himachal Pradesh is all set to take an earnest shot against illegal properties and properties owned by violaters of the law. In the recent monsoon session conducted admist the presence of fifteen members, along with the presence of the president of the house. The primary focus of the law makers was the retardation of the alarming drug consumption rates. The members decided to take an unconventional approach and decided to cull the problem at it's root. The blow will be directed at the Peddlers where it would hurt the most- their personal property.

In addition to the Seizure of properties of drug distributors, the committee also pushed forward to make drug peddling a non bailable offence for at least a year. The focus here was targetted upon the Peddlers in such a way that these individuals will not resort to their old ways soon, which they usually do.

The hard stance taken by the state against the menace of drug abuse has shaken the policy makers of neighboring states into action. A joint meeting of seven adjacent states took place in Chandigarh soon after.

Hopefully, by amending the property law, these states will achieve their common goal sooner rather than later.
