On Saturday, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) issued closure notice to 33 eateries in Delhi, including prominent cafes and restaurants in Connaught Place for violation of public health license.
Civic body has identified 589 small eating outlets, which have been running without permit. This move came as a part of survey of eating joints to confirm if they are adhering to the health and hygiene guidelines under NDMC’s Smart City programme.
The licenses of these eateries have not been renewed this year. The restaurants are given 15 days to comply with directions or face sealing.
While some eateries under scanner do not have adequate sewage control mechanism, others lack structural stability. Some of these eateries have been running without any valid licenses.
In Connaught Place, two popular restaurant were issued notices for not meeting structural stability parameters and misuse of terrace premises.
