On Sunday, a wall in sector 58 collapsed due to the digging of a foundation for construction of a building. The Noida Authority then demolished a five single storey rooms built for costruction workers on the plot on which foundation was dug up.
“Our junior engineer conducted an inspection and found that wall dug around the dug up plt has weakened. To ensure safety of workers we dismantled five rooms in which construction workers were living,” said SP Singh, senior manager, Noida authority.
Sector 58 is the industrial hub, therefore home to several industrial and office buildings. Due to heavy rains buildings dug up around the dug up plots are facing dangers.
The Noida authority has also put up warning notice at the front gate.The Noida authority’s CEO Alok Tandon has directed the staff to conduct inspections in their respective areas to check for unsafe buildings.
