Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation for 81 projects worth a total of Rs 61,846.67 crore at a ground-breaking ceremony in Lucknow.
These projects relate to different sector like infrastructure, food processing, IT, etc and are expected to generate more than 2.12lakh job opportunities, according to the industries department.
Noida and Greater Noida remain the most preferred investment destinations for big projects especially those related to IT and electronics.
Of 81 projects Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida will host 22 projects. Greater Noida is slotted for development of manufacturing units for ready-made garments, food processing, mobile phone, consumer durables and accessories.
Projects of manufacturing and assembly of automatic entry systems for AFC’s to be used in the Metro, the railways and airports will be setup in Ghaziabad apart from oxygen plant, housing projects under PM Awas Yojna scheme.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd’s Rs 10,000 crore project involving laying of optical fibre network across UP along with electronic manufacturing zone in Noida are the two biggest projects in terms of investment.
The 81 projects also include the provision of e-rickshaws and charging facilities to be developed across UP. Essel Infraprojects Ltd will be taking up the Rs 1,750 crore project.
