Over 500 crucial documents containing the records of property which were in violation of municipal building laws, or records about disputed land, have gone missing. The Agra Development Authority (ADA) has sought explanation from the officials regarding the same. Sources suggest, that the value of the properties whose records are missing, run in crores of rupees. The employees have been warned about strict actions in case no information about the missing files is provided by them.
Earlier, ADA had started satellite mapping of the properties under its jurisdiction. The process for the computerising of property records had begun 7 months ago, during the tenure of ADA vice chairman, Anil Dhingra. It was claimed that about 35000 properties have been recorded so far, but cross-checking the data resulted in 500 property files being missing. Not only this, irregularities have also been found in the data registered.
ADA Secretary Hari Ram has ensured that properties in large numbers are missing, and efforts are being made to recover them and understand the property details. Sources suggest, the missing files include those concerned with illegal constructions and ADA land which has been encroached. During the tenure of the previous government, cases of attempt to encroach ADA land at Bagh Farzana had surfaced.
The incumbent vice chairman Radhe Shyam Mishra is trying to identify each of the missing files, by passing an order to mark all the department files with differentiated colours, where red signifies matters of “illegal encroachment”, yellow- “record missing” and blue- “data feeding verified.”
